The Therapist
Jane de Rooy
After qualifying as a RegisteredMental Health Nurse Jane worked in acute mental health and then in a variety of community settings in primary care, specialising in Depression and Anxiety based conditions.
Although over the preceding years she had undertaken several training courses related to CBT, in 2000 Jane decided that she would like to complete a formal training programme that would lead to a recognised qualification to practice Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapy, which she completed in Sheffield.
Since qualifying, Jane has gained experience working with complex presentations of the conditions for which CBP is indicated as an evidence based intervention.
She is also involved in training for various accademic institutions including Coventry University, Birmingham University and Wolverhampton University and is involved in the provision of training and supervision for the government directed national IAPT initiative in a range of locations.
